What are we looking for at this time? We need an Experienced Jeweler who is a talented, motivated, and skilled craftsman.

What is required for this position?
- Fabricates and repairs jewelry articles, such as rings, brooches, pendants, bracelets, and lockets: forms model of article from wax or metal, using carving tools
- Cuts, saws, files, and polishes article, using hand tools and polishing wheel
- Solders pieces of jewelry together, using soldering torch or iron
- Enlarges or reduces size of rings by sawing through band, adding or removing metal, and soldering ends together
- Repairs broken clasps, pins, rings, and other jewelry by soldering or replacing broken parts
- Reshapes and restyles old jewelry, following designs or instructions, using hand tools and machines, such as jeweler’s lathe and drill
- Smoothes soldered joints and rough spots, using hand file and emery paper
- May be designated according to metals fashioned as Goldsmith, Platinumsmith, Silversmith I
- Works closely with Jewelry Central to maintain accurate inventory for gold and millidiamonds
- Completes and keeps accurate records of shop jobs assigned by Jewelry Central – using inventory provided
- Completes and keeps accurate records of customer jobs – using own jewelry stock
- Order and maintain jewelry supplies necessary in jewelry workshop
- Assist jewelry sales when necessary
- Keep an accurate bank/cash drawer for repair sales in the computer system
- Be dressed in uniform with a neat appearance – clean shirt/pants, black belt, black shoes, name tag
- Engage in productive work ethics at all times
- Protect the security and assets of the Agency at all times by maintaining and securing inventory from theft and loss
- Communicates well both written and verbally
- Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Must have the ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Must show a commitment to continuous improvement in all areas
- Attend all meetings and training sessions required for position
- Answering the phone in a polite, consistent, and professional manner
- Greeting customers in a friendly manner when they enter the store
- Use behavior that is professional in nature at all times
- Follow direction, delegated tasks, and checklists at all times
- Uses technology for the completion of specified job duties
- Be dressed in business casual with a neat appearance. Following policy including clear handbags
- Attends work regularly according to assigned work schedule and in accordance with Agency policy
- Works cooperatively with others including staff, supervisors, administrators, co-workers, community professionals, customers, vendors and the public
- Follows instructions and abides by Agency policies and procedures
- Maintains compliance with Federal and State regulations during all transactions.
- Assumes other duties, responsibilities and special projects as needed.
- Education/Experience: Vocational or trade schools can provide the education required to become a jeweler; however, most jewelers gain experience through on-the-job training that spans several months to a year. Certification is not required, though it may demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and dedication. Candidates are expected to have work experience reflect their level of mastery in the jeweler expertise. The jeweler must be knowledgeable of the state and federal laws regarding pawn jobs and maintaining inventory.
